I've been receiving care from St Andrews in Northampton, and I've had a lot of involvement with the engagement team. I've done a coproduction competition where we designed a leaflet. We've spoke to the ward manager and given feedback to redesign the information sheets to make them more useful and clear, the coproduction promotes good practice.
There is a member of staff who as a hobby likes to take photographs, he teaches on the wing and the work gets printed and put up on the wall and I think this is great and unique.
There's a lot of good practice going on here. It's not all good, of course, but in terms of patient engagement, learning and changing policies, it is all good.
I'm a service user rep for my wing, so I get to go to meetings about decisions, where the coproduction team are treated well. They use the correct language on reports, respectful and inclusive instead of full of hostility and alienating.
"Good patient engagement practice"
