"ABC PIP / Barnardo's"

I was referred to this project when I was pregnant in the middle of the COVID-19 Pandemic. 

It was such a lonely and isolated time for me, especially when I had to start working from home as my job is working with people.  The isolation sent my anxiety into overdrive, so it was so helpful and reassuring to know I had someone phoning for a chat to check in and give advice.

After I had my daughter I was invited to join in three different groups - baby massage, five to thrive and my favourite one - tree babies. 

The first two groups were over zoom, but still I was do grateful to feel connection to other parents as the pandemic meant I wasn't really getting to see people. 

When Tree babies started, restrictions had eased and we were able to meet up as a group outdoors. I can't say enough what a wonderful experience attending this group was. Having the opportunity to meet with other mums and babies face to face after only seeing people on screens for so long was amazing.

The group was run so well, it was relaxing, friendly, fun and  rewarding. I learnt a lot about the importance of taking time to slow down with my little one and take joy in the small things while enjoying the outdoors. Not only did I love this group, but my daughter also did - her first time seeing other babies in real life! 

I can't say enough how amazing this project is, and how much it helped me through an otherwise tough and lonely time.
