I was admitted to Ward 3A on 10th July 2021 after a non fault car accident. Raigmore was under Code Black and it was a mini heatwave so not the best time to be bedridden in a hospital! Despite this and clearly stretched staffing my care was excellent. From the auxiliary who showed me such kindness when I was crying over missing my son to the Staff Nurse in charge of the Ward who was sympathetic and patient when I was terrified of the injections despite having a million other things to do! The physio who gently encouraged me to get out of bed and all the other unsung heroes of the Ward. I cant thank them enough.
It was absolutely hectic. I've never seen such busy individuals. Literally non stop from patient to patient.
My only complaint. The awful food. As a coeliac it was beyond disgraceful. The poor folk doing the food orders on the tablet had to go through a so called allergy free menu every day that was chock full of allergies! There was next to no gluten free options and I did struggle to find food to eat. With covid I had no visitors and no way to get access to healthy safe options. This was my only complaint and nothing to do with the staff on the Ward. Purely a catering issue.
So huge thanks to all in the Ward. You are absolute heroes.
