About: University Hospital Monklands / Cardiology/Coronary Care Unit (Ward 18)

(as a relative),

Thanks to all the staff involved in caring for my elderly mother after an emergency admission. I have huge respect and gratitude for the communication and compassionate care they provided to both my mum and myself during a worrying time.     A very busy ward coping with the challenges of COVID restrictions but was impressed by their calm explanations to us both. Happily now home and recovering with confidence in the treatment now in place.

Dear Care53,

Thank you very much for taking the time to leave feedback on the Care Opinion platform. I was delighted to read that the staff in Ward 18 at University Hospital Monklands looked after your mother so well with compassion and kindness. Equally, I was delighted to read that you felt the ward communicated so well with both you and your mum during these trying times of COVID restrictions.

I will be sure to pass on your kind words to Sr. Geraldine Ruddy who is our Senior Charge Nurse in Ward 18 for her to share with her team and I thank you again for taking the time out of your day to recognise the efforts of the ward to provide high level person centred care.

I wish your mum a very speedy recovery.

I can appreciate that this would have been an extremely worrying time for your mum and yourself, and I'm glad that colleagues were able to put you at ease and re-assure you. I hope that your mum is now feeling better and making good progress in her recovery. Thanks again for providing us with your comments; colleagues very much appreciate receiving these.
