"Infection control"

About: Royal Preston Hospital / Accident and emergency

(as a service user),

My son has been repeatedly sent up to children's A&E by 111 with the same symptoms, and each visit has been more disappointing than the last. On our most recent visit, the staff who have triaged my son made no effort to introduce themself, rude and abrupt and did not take a proper history. We were sat in a dirty 'amber' waiting room, which appears more like an old storage cupboard. Nurses did attend the waiting room regularly to check observations on the 3 babies in the room, however I believe they used the same "single patient use" saturations probe on all of the babies and made no effort to clean the equipment between patients.

I do not particularly feel comfortable leaving this review as I work in healthcare, however it has left me feeling ashamed.
