"I wish the chairs were higher for us tall men to stand up from"

About: Craigavon Area Hospital / 3 South

(as a staff member posting for a patient/service user),

I have been on 3 south for a  week now. I came in with my COPD and was put on new nebuliser which was quite scary as it was a helmet covering the face. However the staff reassured me and were very friendly. This past few nights I haven't got any food after the 5; 30pm meal until breakfast the next day. If supper was available this would be great. I also find it very difficult to stand up from the chair. I am over 6ft and the chairs are so low down making it hard to get your balance to pull yourself up.

Thank you for posting about your recent hospital experience.

I am really sorry to read you haven't had anything to eat after your evening meal. We are implementing a new menu from Monday 2 August 2021, which has snack items indicated. You will be able to order these items, which are safe to eat later in the evening.

I really hope this helps.

Wishing you a speedy recovery.

Andrew
