"The team treat me as a person"

About: Adult Community District Nursing Teams / Arches District Nursing Team

(as a service user),

I was discharged at the end of May after a long hospital admission and since then I have been under District Nursing Sister Orla and her team from the Arches, since getting home they’ve been so kind, supportive and understanding. Living with a rare disease is really hard sometimes and sometimes people forget you’re more than just a disease but Orla and her team treat me as a person, they listen to my concerns and look at the bigger picture. I am so grateful for their care during this time.

Dear Jconnor,

Thankyou for taking the time to write this lovely compliment regarding Orla and the District Nursing Team. I am so pleased that your experience has been positive and the team are providing you with the care, support and kindness you require. Living with a rare disease must be challenging and as you have mentioned it is difficult when people forget you are more than a disease. I will extend you kind words of appreciation on to Orla and the team. I hope that the continued support from the District Nurses will aid in your recovery.
