About: Craigavon Area Hospital / 4 South Craigavon Area Hospital / Emergency Department

(as a staff member posting for a patient/service user),

I can't really complain about anything in the hospital. It has provided a good service to me whilst I have been unwell. I came through the accident and emergency department and had to wait for 6 hrs before I was seen to which was quite frustrating at the time. I know however that it was just a busy time and the staff couldn't have done anymore.  The staff are kind and explain everything  well as they go about their care.  They are understanding even though they are run off their feet due to, what seems like, an issue of understaffing. The ward is extremely clean and housekeepers have been in everyday cleaning. My only complaint is the food. It is too hot to have a 3 course meal at lunch time . I would love it if they put salad as an option on the menu which would be a more suitable meal for the weather.

Overall I have had a positive experience.

We aologise you had to wait six hours the emergency department has been under significant pressure. The trust is working hard to improve the flow of patients out of the department and into admission wards.
