At my MDT meeting a doctor continually referred to my mental health diagnosis as 'my condition' and dismissed completely how I was feeling by putting it down to 'just my condition'. I was discharged despite me pleading that I was ill. It turned out that it wasn't just my 'condition', I was being medicating me with the wrong type of antipsychotic medication. I think it's about time patients were allowed to consult with their own psychiatrists again, rather than consultants from around the area, before some serious error is made.
