"I was struggling a little and no one really noticed"

On 1 North all of the nurses here are so great and helpful and give me very good attention. I have found however some of the consultants would be very 'in your face' and I would have a lot of questions sometimes regarding my treatment options I would love to be explained more but I just don't get the chance. Especially after I had my stent put in I realized I needed more help and this wasn't always noticed by the team, however this is partly my fault as I like my independence. I just think I was struggling a little and no one really noticed.

One thing I would note is that I have found the toilet not to be very well kept, I was using it 3 times in one day and every time I noticed some stains on the seat which really disgusted me, making me not want to use it. I find myself bring my dettol wipes in to clean everything in the toilet and around my bed and I have went through 3 packs of these now since being on the ward. It would save me stooping down to clean the toilet seat (as I'm not meant to be leaning down too much) and I would feel more comfortable using it.

The food isn't really great and I have found the menu to be rather repetitive. the only 2 things I would be able to stomach now is soup or yoghurt and even at that the soup always comes with a later of thick skin on top of it from being re-heated which is rather off putting. I find it just about edible. Nevertheless the staff are great and all very helpful.
