"Being a student counsellor at Change Grow Live"

I am a student Counsellor on placement at CGL cheshire and Merseyside counselling service. I have had other counselling placements but this placement differs in that I feel part of a team, I feel part of CGL. I like the structure of the placement, from the induction, Crisis training, to the careful allocation of clients and the phone call to let us know about the client allocation. I am enjoying learning from my fellow student counsellors, the group work classes I have attended have helped me. I feel supported and I am supported by Amanda, who is the counselling and volunteer coordinator for Cheshire and Merseyside. Amanda is a woman of many talents, from decorating the counselling rooms, assessing clients, matching clients to counsellors and having an open door to us student counsellors, and much more. I feel proud to be part of the counselling team, my experience is positive.
