After seeing many healthcare professionals outside of hospital I feel that the hospital has been the best place to receive care so far.
As a blind individual I feel the staff have been more than helpful to me and are available whenever I need them no matter what the time. The staff have been outstanding and have communicated everything to me extremely well. Any questions I have are answered in a reasonable time and it reassures me when staff go and get a second opinion as I know the answers they provide are informed and competent.
I also suffer with type 1 diabetes and on one occasion I feel the staff didn't listen to me regarding my condition. As a diabetic of over 40 years I know when I am going into a low and when I called to get help from the staff I feel I want listened to at all, when I knew I was right.
Overall I can't complain too much as the ward facilities are absolutely first class. I get more than enough privacy. One thing I would say from a diabetics point of view, I feel there needs to be a lot more variation in terms of slow release carbs as a lot of the items on the menu especially for breakfast aren't the most suitable.
I appreciate all the help I have got in this ward and am comfortable, safe and most importantly content with the care I am receiving. Huge thanks to my whole care team and all they do.
