"Dismissive doctor in the emergency department"

About: Lincoln County Hospital / Accident and emergency

(as a service user),

I have a long term neurological condition which causes me to pass out, have migraines as well as muscle spasms and cognitive issues. I had had a fall and was experiencing increased pain, migraines as well as slurred speech and muscle spasms in my arms and legs.

I had been directed to A&E by calling 111 and came up to A&E very early on a recent morning. The triage nurse was lovely but the doctor I saw was rude to both my partner and I, as well as being dismissive of my pain and cognitive issues.

This doctor didn't look at my notes or really ask any questions during the two minute consultation and told me to contact my GP. So I was left in agony for another day.

My GP diagnosed me with concussion and inflammation of the nerves which should not have been left for 24 hours.

Dear lincolncockney

I am sorry that your experience in the Emergency Department was not to the level that you would expect. If you would like us to look into this further, please can you liaise with the PALS team.

Many thanks
