"Disgusting"

About: Medway Maritime Hospital

Totally disgusted at the way my husband was treated in A&E last night. Went there on Sunday (wonderful treatment on Sunday, despite huge pressure on staff) and was referred to MedOCC who referred him back to A&E for a blood test to help rule out some issues. As it would be another 4-5 hour wait, they said he could come back and have it done if things worsened. They did get worse and he went back yesterday - to be told that they would not do the test, refused to read the additional notes from MedOCC and said that all they would do is send him home with painkillers. Abrupt, aggressive and completely unhelpful.

I realise that the staff are under pressure but I’m sure you can imagine that someone with increasing pains in their chest is also feeling particularly anxious.

He is now home, feeling increasingly unwell and that there is nowhere to go for help as you cannot even get through to GP, let alone get an appointment.
