"Ward 19 Wishaw"

(as a parent/guardian),

Earlier this week my 2 and a half year old son became ill with a temperature. 1 negative Covid test later I then had to take him to my GP practice due to my concerns over white spots on his tonsils and general lethargy. They then sent us to ward 19 at Wishaw General Hospital due to his blood sugars being very low.

The care and attention we received when we got there was really exceptional. Nothing was a bother or a hassle and the way in which they dealt with everyone in the ward was just amazing. I felt really reassured having them check over my son. I think one of the nurses was called Eleanor and she was really great, the whole team were. Luckily, with their help and after speaking with the doctor, we managed to get my son to a point where we could go home.

I was so impressed with everything they did and even more so today when the doctor called us to check how he was doing, I really found that above and beyond and I just can't thank them all enough.

Hi Kirstyw03,

Thank you for sharing with us your experience of the care you and your child received within Ward 19. This must have been a very worrying time for you and I am pleased to hear that you felt comfortable and assured by the care provided. The staff in the unit work hard to ensure children and their families feel that they are at the very centre of what they do. I will pass on your kind comments to the team, particularly to Eleanor. I hope your son continues to progress well and thank you once again for taking the time to do this.

kind Regards

Carrie
