"A visit to ED with my mother in law"

(as a relative),

My mother in law had a trip at home.she fell over a lead and fractured her radius. The staff were amazing and cared for her with professionalism dignity and respect; we used the phone first service and also was delighted at how responsive their response was!! 

A fantastic experience of the excellent service by the amazing staff in ED Western Trust

My name is Brian Gillespie. I work as an Emergency Nurse Practitioner in the Emergency Department (ED) at Altnagelvin Hospital. Thank you for your feedback which was shared with Phone First

My name is Deborah Ward and I am the Manager for Western Urgent Care which takes the Phone First calls and provides the telephone triage of Patients. Firstly, we hope that your Mother–in-Law is recovering well following her fall. The Phone First Service has been in place since late January 2021 to assist those Patients who are injured or unwell and who are not sure about which service to contact. It is greatly appreciated when we hear about the experience of those Patients who need to use the service. We are glad to hear that our Nurse was able to contact you, to triage your Mother-in-Law so quickly and help to make the arrangements for her care.
