I wanted to pass on my thanks to the medics and nurses who looked after me in my admission to A&E at the Queen Elizabeth after an incidence of self-harm. I have so often back home had really bad experience of getting bloods taken and the thought of it is even quite traumatic.
The care and compassion by the doctors and nurses in A&E and the AMU did not go unnoticed. I felt safe in an A&E department for the first time in well over a year. I can’t describe how that felt. Even though I’ve had treatment many times before, I was so grateful to the doctor who explained to me what it was for, how it might make me feel. Thank you for looking after me when my mental health was so vulnerable, you are all angels in blue x
"Thank you for looking after me"
