After feeling unwell for 2 to 3 days but thinking it sensible not to waste the time of Doctors straight way, very early yesterday I went on e-consult as apparently this is the only way to contact a doctor. The form is very difficult if you have pre-existing conditions, yet I put down as much information as possible. I then received an email to say that I would be contacted by 1830 today the following day. I didn't see or hear anything late in the day so I called 111 as I still felt unwell. Another E form and a call and a call back from the out of hour doc (who was very helpful) After having another lousy night I checked on line and found an appt in spam box for a call after weekend. I called the surgery and finally got through, they had received the update from 111, I said I really needed a call today and believed that I would have a call today. After waiting most of the day by the phone, I called the surgery and after a long wait discovered that I was getting a call today as the Monday call was booked. I now have a choice of calling 111 again or pitching up at Casualty. What a system. Having waited over a year an a half for operation fro treatment relating to ops over the last 5.5 years I think the system stinks. Recently our practice merged with a larger practice and now I am very worried about the future.
"E-Consult system is rubbish"
