My Mum fell in her residential home on Saturday morning and was transferred to ED by ambulance .
I want to commend the staff in ED for the care and attention that my Mum received .
Dr. Rachel looked after so well , her communication with me and mum was excellent and after Mum's x-ray very quickly gave her a nerve block which worked so well that Mum then had no pain at all . The Staff Nurse looking after Mum was called Beth and she too was excellent , Mum has dementia and Beth's communication with her was great and also bank HCW Catriona who knew Mum from her residential home and who Mum recognized despite her dementia. We arrived in ED at approx. 0900 and Mum was moved into her bed in Trauma Ward at 1415 which is amazing service .
The Ward Sister in Trauma spoke to me on Saturday and fully explained the visiting restrictions but reassured me that the staff would be as accommodating as possible within the rules which they have been. Her surgical repair took place on Monday morning and the care Mum received in the Unit has been first class . . Staff Nurse Lisa was on long days Wednesday Thursday and Friday and her communication with me and my sister was fabulous and reflected that she knew Mum very well. Please pass on the wholehearted thanks from me and my sisters and brothers for the care and attention Jean received especially to the staff personally named.
ED and Trauma Ward are a credit to the SHSCT.
