"Possible TIA"

About: Forth Valley Royal Hospital / Accident & emergency Forth Valley Royal Hospital / Outpatients

(as a service user),

Ended up in FVRH outpatients twice last week, having phoned in to 111 with a possible TIA on two occasions - severe, consistent pain in left arm from wrist to shoulder. Very little still happening by the time I got there so first time I was sent away.... second time, the very thorough A& E doctor (sorry.. didn't make a note of his name and so can't praise him personally) referred me into Mr Soane's TIA clinic.

Experience of seeing Mr Soane was very good... thoroughly professional. He wasn't convinced my experience had been of a TIA as some classic symptoms were missing, but not prepared either to contradict doctor who saw me at the time.     Will talk over the experience with GP in terms of lifestyle/prevention/next steps.
