I was admitted into Lagan valley on a detention. I was admitted on the grounds that I was not fit to be at home by my parents and my partner. I then was a voluntary inpatient but decided along with my parents that it was best for me to be there under the care of the doctor and the nurses. I was discharged in June 2021. I am now safely home and settling into life at home again. It will take some time for me to fully get back on to my feet and back into my job but there are processes there and I will make use of the programmes recommended by the amazing peer advocate team. Which I could not praise enough! They were fantastic. Martin and Kerry-Anne had an amazing rapport with the group and all of us patients. They personally helped me in more ways I could even explain.
"Bipolar disorder in Ward 12. Hospital for 7 weeks."
