"Weakness due to ME"

About: Lanarkshire Community Services / Occupational Therapy

(as a staff member posting for a patient/service user),

I have been suffering with ME for over 28 years and being in lockdown and furlough for 6 months made my weakness worse, so I was referred to Katrina by my Doctor.

Katrina worked with me via phone calls and chatted me through how I needed to slow down, not rush and take small gradual steps to help myself. These tips helped me cope with the good days and bad days.

Katrina also sent me worksheets which were really beneficial to me at the time and now allow me a reference point to refer back too. Katrina did help lift my spirits at the time of our sessions and can not think of anything that Katrina could have done differently.

I would have liked to have had Face to face appointment's but understand why these can not take place during the current situation. This was my first time to use this kind of service and would recommend to use again.

Dear Gardiner1,

Many thanks for providing feedback regarding your experiences of working alongside one of our Primary Care occupational therapists, Katrina Taylor.

I am pleased to read that you found support beneficial and have been given tips to help you cope with good and bad days.

I will ensure this feedback is shared with Katrina and her OT colleagues. We very much appreciate you providing your feedback.

I appreciate face to face contact would have been preferable, certainly we too look forward to restrictions lifting so we can return to routine face to face appointments.

May I take this opportunity to wish you well,

Amanda
