I am trying to get help for my son. We were at A&E last week after my son attempted suicide. They said there was nothing they could do for him but refer him to Sheffield Health and Social Care. My son got an appointment for a telephone appointment yesterday but no one called. My son called them to find out why the appointment hadn't happened and they said they would call him back. He has not had a call back.
We have called the out of hours crisis team to be told they will ring back in the morning and there is no call-back. I cannot believe that they cant even keep appointments or call back.
I have tried to call them but cant get in touch directly. It is very hard as a parent to persuade a child to get help and then when they agree the help isnt there for them. Telephone appointments - covid or no covid - are ridiculous. I'm really frustrated with the lack of concern about a young person's life.
"No support for my suicidal son"
