"Taken to WGH A&E with an injured leg"

About: Scottish Ambulance Service / Emergency Ambulance University Hospital Wishaw / Emergency Department University Hospital Wishaw / Trauma & orthopaedics

(as the patient),

The paramedics were amazing and helped me to stay calm on my journey hospital.  One of the paramedics even came back to check I was OK later in the day.

All of the medical staff in A&E were very attentive and they took the time to explain things to me and support me throughout the day.
I was taken to resuc for a procedure and again all of the staff involved were amazing.  There were 2 medical students present.  I think the female student was called Amy and she was brilliant.  She offered me a lot of emotional support and was able to keep me calm and I felt reassured by her.  The male student was also lovely and he took the time to  check on me to make sure I was OK which I really appreciated.

Dear chamaeleon76

Thank you very much for getting in touch and for your comments in relation to the treatment you received whilst having to attend the Emergency Department here at University Hospital Wishaw. I indeed hope that your leg injury is recovering well.

It is always nice to get positive feedback and I will ensure this will be shared across the Emergency team and to those whom you have personally named.

Thank you once again and Best Wishes

Faith

Dear chamaeleon76

Many thanks for the kind words of appreciation for the ambulance crew and Wishaw Hospital Team.

As Faith says, it is always great to receive such positive feedback and the staff greatly appreciate it.

If you would be so kind to send me some more detailed information I would be sure to pass your thanks onto the ambulance crew involved directly. I can be contacted at philipmeechan.mcaleer@nhs.scot. All I would require would be the date of the incident, an approximate time and the address where it occurred and I can then identify the crew to relay your thanks.

I hope you are now well on the road to recovery.

Take care

Phil.
