My mum attended NDDH for a gallstone removal which did not go to plan and ended up with her being admitted. My mum was very seriously ill and as a family, we feared the worst.
We have to say the care she received by the nurses on Lundy ward and within the intensive care department, absolutely contributed to her getting better. During the current Covid-19 regulations, restrictions were in place and visiting was an hour a day for one family member so we obviously was hanging on every word of the care staff within the ward when we called for updates. All members of the team on Lundy and Intensive care we extremely attentive, patient and most of all kind which is very much needed at the time and we are so very grateful.
My mum was fearful, in pain and unwell but the care she received was so sincere and they treated her with dignity, even down to holding her hand when she felt sad being away from her very close family unit.
My dad was always greeted and supported while he was visiting and staff did their utmost to reassure that she was in safe hands, which we had no doubt regarding the nursing team.
We would like to thank both Lundy and intensive care nursing staff for the outstanding care My mum received during her stay, thank you for treating her as person with total dignity and pure kindness.
