My 99 year old mum Cathie was admitted to ward 33, Ninewells Hospital in February following a CVA (stroke). Sadly, decision to commence end of life care plan was made and she died a week later.
As a family we will be forever grateful for the wonderful care mum received. Despite being a very busy unit coupled with managing Covid regulations, the team were consistently calm, available and readily reassuring to us, whether visiting or phoning.
Nothing was any trouble to meet mum's needs, whether physical, emotional or spiritual and as a family, they gave us so much confidence that we had entrusted her care to such a highly professional team. From the outset and before we were able to visit, medical staff telephoned my brother and I on more than 1 occasion, both to glean further information and to keep us informed of mum's current condition and care.
I hope the team realise the exceptional skills they possess and I want them to know that these contributed so positively in what was a devastating experience for us.
"They cared for our mum and supported our family"
