After feeling dreadful in the middle of the night and plucking up the courage to phone 111, I spoke with a really kind staff member who referred me to the GCC OOH. I spoke with a lovely GP on the phone at first who advised OOH would be happy to see me based on my symptoms or if I wanted I could wait until my GP opened in a few hours, I asked for an appointment & soon enough I was seen at Stobhill. I just wanted to write this to thank the kind doctor who seen me at Stobhill (at around 5am) Unfortunately I cannot remember her name but she immediately put me at ease & was just so so kind, at that time of the morning when I felt so unwell I was anxious I would get someone who wouldn’t take me serious! I think she was a bit surprised comparing my observations to how I looked visually sitting in front of her, as they weren’t so great. While going through her assessment we also chatted about what I do for work and other things. It’s little things like that which completely change a patients experience, we even managed to have a laugh, which can be really needed when you’ve been feeling unwell. I can’t imagine how incredibly tough & scary it has been for all frontline staff throughout covid, so I just wanted to tell her thank you, for taking me seriously & for being such an amazing doctor. She quickly referred me on to be seen at a unit in the QEUH, and I was later allowed to go home.
