"Taking my mother to A&E"

I had to take my mother to accident and emergency at Antrim Hospital, she has a history of heart problems.

I left her while she was being examined by the Doctor to phone my sister, when I had returned which was no more than 5 minutes later I found her laying on the floor and had to get a nurse to help her back on the bed.

After that I could not leave her side and had to sit with her for over 7 hours before she was admitted. I have 3 young children but I could not leave her after what happened.

The whole hospital was chaotic, nurses were running from patient to patient, I really feel for them.

Once admitted my mother received good care however the accident and emergency area and length of time my mother had to wait was far from satisfactory.
