"Not a great practice"

About: Monkfield Medical Practice

My doctor invited me to the GP after the phone consultation at 3pm. I was told to be there between 4 pm. I went there 5 min early and I was the only patient in the waiting area upstairs, and after 50 minutes of waiting, I told the receptionist I have to leave soon, but I could wait a little longer if the doctor can tell when he is going to be available. Then the receptionist talked to the doctor, and she said:

- "It is your choice if you want to leave, and the doctor cannot promise or tell when he will be available, I am sorry".

I waited 10 more minutes and had to leave. It wasn't a good experience for me.

I am sorry to hear that your experience with us was not as you would expect due to the wait you had and the response you received. Whilst you may have been the only patient in the reception this isn't a reflection of the work being carried out within the practice and we are still dealing with emergency responses that may on occasions delay our GP's. That said I would expect you to be kept up to date with the happenings if this is the case so that you can make an informed choice on the wait. I am happy to review what happened in this case if you contact me at the practice and speak with the staff involved. Please do let me know if you would like me to do this. Kind regards Hannah Crisford, Practice Manager h.crisford@nhs.net or 01954 282 153.
