I think about my experience of giving birth to my girl at the Rosie every single day. It was the best decision I ever made, to come here. I had a very traumatic start to my pregnancy. In late 2019 I suffered a pregnancy loss (staff at the Addenbrooks A&E and the Rosie saved my life). Getting pregnant again so soon was amazing, but I was scared throughout my first trimester. Coming to the Rosie, where I'd been so well taken care of before, really helped. Everyone I met there was caring and so thorough, I felt calm just walking into the doors (even when I had to come in for reduced movements in the middle of the night, three times!)
The midwives who delivered my baby were absolutely amazing. I managed to have an unmedicated birth because of their support - something I never imagined I'd be able to do. I went from being terrified at every moment at the start of my pregnancy to giving birth full of joy and feeling strong. This was entirely down to the care I received from the midwives. It has made all the difference to how I've bonded with my baby girl. I'll always remember this, and if I'm ever lucky enough to fall pregnant again, the Rosie is the only place in the world I'd ever come back to. Thank you all so much.
