"MRI department"

About: Royal Hospital for Children (Glasgow) / Imaging (Xrays and Scans)

(as a parent/guardian),

Our daughter is 10months old and required an MRI Scan. She was pretty distressed when we first entered the department as she had just had a cannula inserted. However, as soon as we entered the MRI Department we were made to feel at ease immediately. We were greeted by a lovely receptionist, then by the nursing assistant Rebecca who was absolutely brilliant. She made myself, my partner and daughter feel at ease straight away. The radiologist then came to see us who was also lovely, and very reassuring. She made us aware of what to expect throughout the afternoon and was extremely knowledgeable. She was very open about things and gave my partner and I many opportunities to ask any questions. This team made a very worrying experience as pleasant as it could have possibly been. Thank you all so much.

Dear Laura K72,

What a lovely post to read and thank you so much for taking the time to send it.

It must have been a very worrying experience for both you and your partner to see your wee girl have a cannula inserted and then to bring her for an MRI. We are so thankful to our Receptionist and to Rebecca for providing the support you both needed at that that.

It is great to hear our Radiologist provided exceptional patient centred care for you all, and gave you the opportunity to ensure you knew what was happening at all times.

It is heart-warming to hear that all team members you encountered did their best to help and support you and your family. Our Senior Management Team have taken this opportunity to pass your post on to the team involved along with their personal thanks.

I hope your wee girl is feeling much better after her experience and that you and your partner had a very well deserved relaxing cup of tea after!

It was sincerely our pleasure to care for you all.

Take care and sending best wishes

Coral
