"I feel really let down"

About: Forth Valley Community Services / Health visiting

(as a parent/guardian),

My son was born January 2019. I'm a first-time parent.

His first health visitor had left to work in a different area when he was 4months old. I had not received a letter or telephone call from anyone to say who the new health visitor would be.

According to his red book/record book, he was supposed to have a check up at 8months, this never happened. His 13-15month one was done via telephone, this was understandable as covid had hit.

But now I have spoken to 3 different people with children of similar age to my son, and all three of them had had the latest check-up around 27months. Again my son has not had this and he is almost 29 months. I have also not been able to officially weigh him since March 2020 as no group settings have been in place.

I feel really let down by the health visiting team who are meant to support us.

Dear foxtrotnq75

Thank you for taking the time to get in touch to tell us about your experience. I really am very sorry to hear of the difficulty you have had accessing a Health Visitor.

I would welcome the opportunity to speak with you about this further and to arrange for your health visitor to contact you. For me to be able to do this, I need some information from you and your little boy. Can I ask you to send me your contact details to the following email address fv.fvhvleadershipteam@nhs.scot
