"17 weeks between doses"

About: NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde / Covid Vaccination Programme

(as a service user),

My and my husbands first covid 19 vaccine was given at NHS Louisa Jordan in early March 2021.  Not having received an appointment for our 2nd by 11 weeks I filled in the missing appointment forms online and called the helpline daily. We have now received appointments for our 2nd vaccine in July 2021 - it will be over 17 weeks after the first. I thought the guidelines were you should have 2nd vaccine within 12 weeks of first.

Dear J103

I am sorry to hear about the delay you and your husband have experienced whilst waiting for your 2nd vaccine.

If you would like to get in touch we will see if we can arrange an appointment sooner. If you could email your personal details and your husband’s including your date of birth and which vaccine you both received to PatientExperience@ggc.scot.nhs.uk? With your permission we will share your details with our colleagues in Public Health. (It would be helpful if you could include your Care Opinion username in your email.)

Many thanks

Nicole

Hi Nicole

Thank you very much for your response I did try to reply using the email address above but got a bounce back email from Microsoft saying it had been rejected for security or policy reasons. It just said that I managed to get my own 2nd Pfizer vaccine last Tue and that my husband is currently in hospital so unable to reschedule his at present

Thank you again

Hi J103

I am sorry that your email bounced back - I will ask our IT Department to look into this. Thanks for highlighting this. I am glad to hear that you have received your second vaccine. I hope that your husband is ok and please pass on my best wishes.

Take Care

Nicole
