I've been with mental health services for the last 15 years, and never have been treated worse than in this place. It feels like all my struggles are dismissed, the staff has repeatedly talked about referring me to talking therapy but it has not happened, and I feel I'd be better off on my own. I've been trying to get assessed for ADHD due to my suspicions and the ineffectiveness of all other treatments I've tried, but have been wrongly told by staff that adults can't have ADHD and that the NHS doesn't offer that service, which isn't correct.
I'm really unwell, unable to work and unable to properly care for myself and my family due to my poor mental health, yet all I get from the mental health services is a half-yearly 15 minute appointment with a psychiatrist who it seems doesn't believe anything I say. Ironically they tell me there's nothing wrong with me and I'm completely normal, yet at the same time I'm still their patient and they have continued prescribing me antidepressants.
In short, these services have only caused me more uncertainty and anxiety than before.
