"Emergency Admission"

About: Fairfield General Hospital / Accident and emergency Fairfield General Hospital / General medicine North West Ambulance Service NHS Trust / Emergency ambulance

(as the patient),

In the space of a few hours I went from feeling healthy to experiencing increasingly pain chest pains and difficulties with breathing. I felt very afraid and  thought that my 81 years of life was ending,

I phoned 999 after midnight and the paramedics arrived within half an hours and took me to A&E where I spent several hours being examined in various ways. The staff were very competent and so well organised, reassuring and caring.

I was sent to Ward 7 quite early in the morning where treatments and further examinations were carried. My pains were due a chest infection and the care of the staff immediately made me feel better and secure. The nurses were friendly, quite informal, positive and encouraging and sociable along with a professional and very caring attitude.

They looked after me so well that I was able to recover quickly and went home two days later with a supply of medications. Thank you so much ladies. You made me feel so much better and on the road to recovery.
