"Do Not Resuscitate"

Whilst my Aunt was in the GRI there was a DNR put in place unknowing to my Aunt or myself who has Power of Attorney, my Aunt was informed by a nurse on the ward that a DNR was in place my Aunt demanded it to be destroyed, it wasn't until she arrived back home she was presented with it along with her Immediate Discharge Letter. This has caused so much stress and upset with my Aunt and all the family. I have discussed this with her GP who has arranged for the DNR to be destroyed. My Aunt and all the family are absolutely disgusted and shocked that this DNR was put in place without any discussion with my her or myself/ family. During her stay I had several conversations with ward staff and Dr's and there was never a mention of a DNR. We want to know why a DNR was put in place without any discussion beforehand and wish it to be removed from all hospital records.
