"Having my baby at altnagelvin hospital"

About: Altnagelvin Area Hospital / Maternity care

(as a service user),

I just wanted to say a massive thanks to the amazing maternity staff at Altnagelvin hospital following the birth of my baby.

From the gestational diabetes antenatal team to the anaesthetists Dr Therese and Dr Laird who made my planned c Section such a relaxed experience. The amazing doctors who delivered my baby safely and amazing midwife Fiona Clarke who looked after us so well.

All the midwives and materity staff - Nikki, Clyde, Bronagh. The maternity assistants who got me off to a great start with breast feeding. The amazing doctors Dr Doherty and Dr McIntosh who fully assessed our baby and their approach at keeping us informed and referred on.

The staff were so stretched especially with covid but we still received the best care and attention. Thank you so much

Thank you Joaqt37 for your kind comments to the whole team who provided care to both you and your baby when you were in Atnagelvin hospital. I will personally ensure this message is passed to on all of the different teams involved. We are very humble that you have expressed your appreciation of the care you received in these strange times and our goal within maternity is to ensure that the mothers have a positive experience of our services.

From all of the Team we wish you all the best with your new baby in the coming weeks and months.
