"My relaxing experience at the Women's Day Clinic"

About: Aberdeen Royal Infirmary / Gynaecology Services Outpatients / Women's Day Clinic

(as a service user),

I had to attend the Women's Day Clinic last week for an intimate and invasive examination followed by some uncomfortable treatment and yet I still managed to leave my appointment feeling relaxed, at ease and confident about the next steps. This was entirely due to the absolutely fantastic Colposcopy Nurse Specialist Christine.

Christine exemplifies what it means to be an expert nurse, the perfect blend of experience, knowledge, skills, empathy and kindness. It felt like her mere presence filled the clinic with a sense of calmness and serenity. My apprehension and vulnerability melted away as the appointment progressed and afterwards I had a wee chuckle to myself as I pondered how I could go through that appointment and still feel better than when I arrived!

Every ward and department should have a Christine!

Thank you so much for taking the time to share the deeply personal experience of your appointment in Women's Day clinic. It must of been exceptionally daunting for you to attend our colposcopy clinic and I am delighted to hear that you found Christine and the team to be welcoming and professional throughout your appointment to put you at ease and reassure you throughout your treatment.

This level of individual care is what the team and service strive to achieve for each and everyone of our patients, and your feedback will be greatly appreciated by Christine and the wider team. I will personally share your kind comments with Christine on your behalf.

I hope you are recovering well and wish you all the best in the future.

Thank you once again

Best wishes
