My wife had surgery for cancer at ARI Foresterhill in April 2019. The consultants and specialists were first class, communication was great and happy to spend time and talk with us.
The care in HDU was also very good.
The care in the wards in ARI was not a good standard, whilst I understand that the nursing staff are busy, the level of care in the wards was disappointing. Simple things like drinks or the special menu required were not easily available and when someone is recovering after major surgery, these small things are highly important.
My wife progressed and was discharged to our home. Unfortunately she developed an infection resulting in admission to Dr. Grays in Elgin.
The ward musing care in Dr Grays was so much better than we expected, and this aided the recovery in Dr. Grays. As my wife needed specialist consultants to ensure the correct treatment she was transferred back to ARI, where again we experienced a poor quality of ward nursing care.
So in summary the care at Dr Grays was excellent and we are very grateful for their work and support.
Unfortunately we don't have any positive comments on ARI ward care.
But the consultant and specialists were very good.
My wife continues to recover and stay well following the surgery and treatment.
