"I was well looked after"

About: Royal Alexandra Hospital / General Surgery (wards 19, 20, 24, 26 &29)

(as a service user),

I have recently been discharged from RAH, after major bowel surgery.   From the minute I walked into the hospital until my discharge the care I received was second to none.   I was admitted to ward 29, then taken down to Theatre for my surgery, this was the start of fantastic process, even with face masks and PPE, I really felt the staff were so warm and caring, and for sure professional.

Back in the ward I was well looked after, all my needs met and more.   My partner was able to visit which was so helpful to my recovery.   I can not say enough about the fantastic care I received.   For sure Mr Renwick my surgeon was superb, I felt at every point of my time in the hospital. Even my discharge was completed with such ease as I was really worried about having to walk out, but again this was seen to. I can not thank everybody enough from the Doctors, Nurses and all the support staff, including the auxiliary staff who rarely get a mention.

Dear Karin K,

On behalf of Mr Renwick, all the ward team and theatre staff, thank you so such for your lovely comments particularly when you have had to undergo major surgery.

The staff are all delighted to hear you felt at ease and well cared for by them. This is reassuring as I'm sure it must have been quite overwhelming to attend hospital in these uncertain times. The teams have all worked hard to ensure patient safety, whilst remaining mindful of the human, compassionate element of care.

I trust you are recovering well and thank you again for taking the time to post of your experience.

Kind Regards

Heather
