"Fantastic paramedics!!"

About: Forth Valley Royal Hospital / Accident & emergency Forth Valley Royal Hospital / Acute assessment unit Scottish Ambulance Service / Emergency Ambulance

(as the patient),

I would like my sincere gratitude to be passed on to the staff in A&E and AAU. They were so good at looking after me, and to the domestic who was cleaning my room in AAU who stopped and offered to get me a cup of tea and biscuits, thank you. It was a great cuppa!

But a special thanks to the 3 paramedics who came to my house and took me to the hospital, a huge thank you. There were 2 men and a woman, forgive me for forgetting your names because I wasn’t feeling great, but you were all amazing!! Very efficient, professional, and also very funny! Just what you need when you’re feeling unwell. They correctly diagnosed an infection, and after IV antibiotics in AAU I felt a lot better. Thank you so much for your fantastic care!!

Dear Debbie N

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback on CareOpinion. I am sorry to read that you had reason to need the Services of ourselves and of the wider NHS in Forth Valley. I hope that you are feeling better now and your infection has all gone. To warrant IV antibiotics means it must have been a nasty one and you must have felt terrible.

I am however really pleased to read about the positive side of your experience and the professionalism that was clearly demonstrated when all the staff cared for you. Whilst it is important to have a good clinical knowledge, it is just as important to have an awareness of the softer side of patient care and making people feel at ease. Making you laugh can in turn make you feel better.

If you would like for these comments to be passed onto the the crew I would be more than happy to ensure that this is done for you. In order for this to happen we will just need a few details, specifically the date, time and address that we attended you and of course your name. You can send this to sas.feedback@nhs.scot. As it is likely that another member of the team will pick this up it would be very helpful if you could make reference to your CareOpinion username to allow them to easily link your email to this case.

Thanks again for your time and lovely words and I wish you all the very best.

Kind Regards

Alan
