Like many people when covid hit my treatment was put on hold, clinics had to close & services ceased.
For me this meant the fantastic work Maxillofacial were doing to help with the pain in my TMJ had to cease. Therefore for I have been in a pain that is indescribable, has meant not chewing, reduce mouth opening, days written off due to pain, lack of interest in doing things & unable to concentrate on my hobbies. So when an appointment came through the post it was like a huge burst of sunshine.
Yes I was nervous, not pleasant for me to have injections in my facial muscles plus having to go for the appointment, but the benefit certainly outweighed my anxiety. The Tower where Maxillofacial is was very clean, good signs about what to do & where to wait, all staff were masked & gowned up but still able to be understood (I have loss of hearing so masks muffle sounds), everything was explained & questions answered. So yes I have sort of started back at square 1 & other appts will be needed but yahoo hopefully I will be pain free & clinics will continue to be open, safe for everyone. Thankyou Mr Burrell & your lovely Nurse for putting me at ease.
