"Further Exceptional GP support for our autistic daughter."

Following on from our autistic daughters first Covid vaccination 9 weeks ago that proved to be a very difficult process for the GP, Dr. Burnham, the second dose was scheduled for today at our home as a result of excellent coordination and organising of the process by Regency Health Centre by Anne. 

Regrettably when Dr. Burnham arrived to carry out the vaccination our daughter who is petrified of syringes resisted and was having none of it. However Dr. Burnham was not giving up and as was the case with the first vaccination we devised a plan to get the job done later in the day.  

Dr. Burnham returned again this afternoon and the plan swung into action.  Once again, with great sensitivity and a very professional caring attitude in light of our daughter’s severe intellectual disability, Dr. Burnham, with great patience, rose to the occasion and successfully delivered the second dose of the vaccine. 

As you can imagine we are relieved, as all of this was very stressful for all concerned. I therefore want to place on record once again to Regency Health Centre practice manager and of course Dr. Burnham our sincere thanks for all of their help and professional assistance in delivering a first class NHS to their patients!
