About: District Nursing / Ardglass District Nursing

(as a service user),

My father died recently & the palliative care team + those helping with end of life care at home were excellent. Following his death, I phoned our OT, district nursing and respiratory teams to return healthcare items in our home.   Frustrating I have been passed from pillar to post with different ‘services’ saying they are not responsible for particular items.   A one-stop-shop contact (& ideally collection) service would be very helpful.   Nineteen telephone calls & five ‘pick-up’ teams at our door later & I still haven’t managed to return everything.   Please do also make collecting persons aware there is a death in the family...several people have collected items asking if we’re upgrading to a newer model...very much adding to our distress at such a challenging personal time.

Hi MakeChangeHappen

I am sorry that your father has passed away.

It is great that you point to positive elements of experience, however, I apologise that you are finding unnecessary frustrations.

Please contact me on 07715801634 to discuss - if you wish to do so - as I would like to address these items with our Trust Bereavement Co-ordinator in order that we may make the required changes that you highlight.

Best wishes

Conor
