"Adrenal Insufficiency"

I have adrenal insufficency  and steroid dependent.  I was on sixth floor yesterday and the nurse doing the drugs round did not give me my steroids as there was none on the ward and they did not try to phone any other ward to get it. I should have had it at 8am and did not receive it until 2pm and I only got it then as I was going into a crisis.

When I did get it the nurse had to place them in my mouth and had to put the straw into my mouth to drink water to take it. My eyes were rolling, I was dizzy and light headed and when I talked I was not making sense . Also I kept feeling like I was in a trance and that I was not really there. This could have easily have been avoided if they had followed their duty of care and phoned another ward to get my steroids that are essential to keep me alive.

I did not get steroids for 21 hours from my last lot the day before which could have been fatal. Now they are telling a different story by saying it was a reaction to tramadol which I have had before and not had any problems . I have had so many crisis's with my adrenals and know how it feels so I know it was that and not a reaction . The pain relief nurse agrees with me and I also heard a nurse on that ward say it was their fault I was like that as I did not get my steroids.
