"Corneal Ulcer - referral from optician"

About: University Hospital Hairmyres / Ophthalmology

(as a service user),

I want to express my gratitude to all staff who cared for me during my urgent appointment and subsequent review.

Nursing staff were very efficient, compassionate and reassuring.
I want to thank Dr Franka in particular for taking time to thoroughly examine, to consider and then to (at least try to) explain the condition I have developed.
High level interpersonal skills are often not accorded the significance they ought to be. And yet the quality of that interaction is very often crucial to the patient - and I would think it will also aid medical advice/treatment compliance.
I derived a great deal of reassurance from Dr Franka.
Thank you.

Dear Ystewart13,

Thanks for taking the time to acknowledge Dr Franka and the nursing staff. it's really gratifying for staff when people take the time to recognise their professionalism, care and compassion. You're absolutely right about the importance of building a rapport and clear communication around the medical condition and advice on how to manage that going forward; it sounds like you've a good plan in place.

It will be my pleasure to share your feedback with Dr Franka and the team; we all wish you well with your ongoing treatment and recovery.

Kind regards

Rick
