"Recovery from alcohol."

I am now enjoying my first anniversary of not drinking alcohol. Following my detox at Smithfield's - it became the springboard for my recovery from the dreaded alcohol. I had been drinking 20 + units a day due to whisky, going down hill rapidly, lost my trust from my family and even feeling that I could not survive any longer. My daughters and wife picked me up and persuaded me via my GP to go to Pathways. I was still sceptical about going there because I refused everyone that I had a drink problem. However, I did to keep the peace, I went and the first act of going through that front door was hard, but so worthwhile. Via excellent input from all at Pathways, I gradually made progress but was still drinking, I was still going worse until I got the clearance for the opportunity for a detox which was my godsend. I knew then this was the last resort and a chance I had to take with both hands. This I did, took many opportunities with various groups and made rapid progress in all areas. Now I am alcohol free and enjoying life to the full, have a growing trust with my family and feeling well both mentally and physically. All these accolades spring from family and Pathways - I couldn't have done it without you all. God bless you all and a sincere thank you.
