"Covid information - Sheffield Children's Hospital"

About: Sheffield Children's Hospital

(as a parent/guardian),

Had a blood test booked for my son, but the evening before we were due to go we had a message to say that his younger brother needed to self-isolate due to a positive Covid Case in his class. There were no symptoms in our household, so my understanding is that only the child who has had the contact with the positive case needs to self-isolate at this stage, not the whole household. We were however mindful that the hospital might have different / stricter criteria for attending appointments, so looked on the website to see if we could find out if this impacted on my older son's appointment. We could only find reference to 'if your family is self-isolating' which doesn't differentiate between a scenario where the whole household is self-isolating, and a situation where only one person is self-isolating. When we phoned the hospital they advised we needed to change the appointment but they still talked about our 'family self-isolating'. Completely understand that they may need to have different / stricture criteria, but the way it is described is confusing. It would be really helpful to have more detailed info on the website setting out the exact criteria around this.
