"A&E appointment?"

About: Queen Alexandra Hospital

I recently had to take my mum to the A&E department as she had a nasty fall & hit her head causing a big cut to the back of her head and on arrival I was asked have I a appointment,I was absolutely stunned to be asked this & when I said I haven’t the lady acting as a doorman said I have to take my mum home & ring 111 and they’ll advise me what to do next which I find incredible with my mum on medication to thin her blood,so instead of me going all the way home they let me fill in a 111 questionnaire at the hospital so they can phone me back and tell me what I need to do with my mum,the chap who rang me from 111 was horrified that a hospital was turning away someone with a head injury which in the end needed 6 stitches,I’m just horrified to what’s happening to our hospitals.
