Struggled for a year to get a premature menopause diagnosis and treatment.
Had to undergo worrying, stressful & invasive procedures such as endoscopy, colonoscopy, cancer tests, HIV tests, MRI, CT scan, and around 30 other tests. Never once did my GP discuss the possibility of menopause. There are over 32 recognised symptoms related to menopause/peri menopause- according to NICE guidelines.
Should this not be mandatory training, given the huge number of menopausal women in the workforce.
I had to end up going private for healthcare as i was let down by my practice. I was also given anti depressants (I’m not depressed! I need hormones!). They severely disagreed with me and the health centre would not prescribe the combined pill after 2 bio identical HRT treatments did not help me in the end up. I had to pay £150 for a private appointment and they actually gave me the prescription I needed!!!
